Visitor Analysis
The TABEXPO in Barcelona in 2003 was a great success for exhibitors as well as for the visitors of the event.  | Visitors from 1994 till 2003:
TABEXPO draws more and more visitors to its fair grounds every exhibition year. Compared to the fair in Vienna in 1994 with 5225 visitors, TABEXPO Barcelona the number of visitors has increased by over 50%.
| | Visitors’ Nationality:
Just like in the years before, again TABEXPO managed to attract visitors from all over the world. With 7843 visitors TABEXPO Barcelona has seen yet another overwhelming increase in visitor numbers from the last fair in Geneva.
About 13% of the visitors came from Spain, Germany and Great Britain made up about 8% each, 7% of the visitors came from Italy and another 7% came all the way from China to visit the TABEXPO in Barcelona. Apart from the visitors from Europe which made up more than 60% of the total, Asia represented 21% of the TABEXPO 2003 visitors. This indicates once more how important the Asian market is for the future of the tobacco industry and moreover shows that the TABINFO 2005 – A TABEXPO Event is not only necessary but promises to be a great success.

Companies that take part in the TABEXPO as exhibitor or visitor generally come from every branch of the tobacco industry. In Barcelona 36% of the representatives came from departments concerned with marketing & sales, 20% of visitors came from corporate management departments and 18% worked in the engineering branch.
| | Position in Company:
TABEXPO is the leading tobacco fair in the world and is interesting for everybody who works in this field. Especially the decision makers of the international companies never miss the opportunity to visit the TABEXPO fairs.
In 2003 Presidents, Chairmen or Managing Directors represented 20% of the total of visitors. 22% of visitors held the Directors’ position in their company and another 13% were General Managers. All in all far over 50% of the fair visitors were in the leading management positions in their companies.
| | Visitors’ Interest:
As in the years before TABEXPO satisfies every visitors interest concerning tobacco and everything that is relevant for the industry. Covering all topics and branches the widespread percentage of visitors interest reflects how many different sectors are important to the people and how TABEXPO meet the visitors expectations. Among others, cigarette machinery, packaging machinery and leaf tobacco are the sectors of major interest with 4% each. |
